Nicknamed the "Japanese Mustang", I always thought the Celica was a bit "over styled". But these first generation Celicas have aged better than the second and third generation cars and are starting to look pretty cool in a retro-seventies sort of way.
I may take some heat for saying this, but I'd take one of these over a Mustang II, one of the cars they were competing against in the mid-seventies.
This Celica listed on eBay has only 14,000 miles on it. Other than new paint (a claimed $6500.00 job), everything about this car is original.
This is as close as you'll come in 2008 to buying a new 1977 Toyota Celica.
