I've Never Seen One Before... 1960 Vauxhall Envoy For Sale on eBay

Here's another obscure car being offered on eBay - A 1960 Vauxhall Envoy.

Vauxhall is General Motors British subsidiary. In the sixties Vauxhall was sold in the US through Pontiac dealers. This car however came in through Canada, which is the only place the "Envoy" name was used. In Canada it was sold through Chevrolet and Oldsmobile dealers.

Vauxhall, in the sixties, had a reputation for being extremely rust prone cars. While that may have been slightly exaggerated, they did rust as bad as any other sixties car and, given that there were never many sold here in the first place, there are very few left in North America.

This Vauxhall appears to be in great condition. I have only two concerns about it. 1) The seller says it was repainted, so looking for evidence of rust repair would be a good idea. 2) The listing states it has 37,000 miles on it, yet a picture of the odometer shows just under 42,000 miles. That's not a big deal, 42,0000 miles still makes this a remarkably low mileage car, but it just makes me wonder.

Parts, as you can imagine, are not readily available in the US. However, the British equivalent of this car, the Victor, still has a following in the UK. Parts should still be available through various Vauxhall clubs.

With a "three on the tree" transmission and a top speed of around 75MPH, this is not a car you'd want to drive very often in modern traffic.

The listing gives no details about the car's mechanical condition. I assume the seller will answer any questions you have.

This is one of those cars, that if the mechanical condition is as good as the body, you could buy today and bring to a British cars show tomorrow. I've been to hundreds of British car shows in my life and I've seen very few Vauxhalls at any of them. I've never seen a Vauxhall Envoy anywhere. This car would be an attention getter at any show.
