1964 Daimler V8 - In US and on eBay - Pure Class

When Jaguar acquired Daimler in 1960, they inherited the Daimler 2.5 liter V8 engine. It was being used in the Daimler SP-250 sports car.

The Daimler 2.5 V8 (as the sedan was known) was, for all intents and purposes, a rebadged Jaguar Mk. 2, with one exception; it used the Daimler V8 instead of Jaguar's 3.4 liter inline 6.

This was the first Daimler designed (if you can call badge engineering "designing") by Jaguar and the last to use the 2.5 liter V8. In a way it's a unique piece of history.

The car listed on eBay was imported in the mid 1970s and has been owned by the same family ever since. It's RHD, has an automatic transmission and a claimed 42,000 miles. The seller states that the tires (Redlines) are new and it was recently painted. The interior, as you would expect in a British luxury sedan, is loaded with leather and wood, all of which appears to be in well worn, but good condition.

This is just a classy old British sedan, made back when the Brits (especially Jaguar) had the corner on the classy sedan market. The shape of the car, the dash with its full compliment of gages and and toggle switches, the grill, the headlights, the fog lights, the V8 burble, are just beautiful and exude class. (Yeah, I know, I've overused the words "class" and "classy" in that paragraph, but there really is no other adjective to describe this car)

The only downside to this car is that it's RHD. I'm not sure I could get used to that. However, if you can, and you're looking for a classy (there's that word again) old British sedan, this Daimler 2.5 V8 might be just the car for you.
