1992 Audi V8 Quattro

A quick post...

As you may have figured out, I like sleepers. Cars that don't look like they should perform the way they do. The Audi V8 Quattro is a sleeper.

Based on the same platform as the Audi 100 / 200 series, it looked similar to those cars, but shared few parts. One of the biggest differences was the engine; a V8.

Initially available with 3.6 liter V8, in 1992 Audi introduced the 4.2 liter V8. The 4.2 was capable of propelling the car to 60MPH in around 7 seconds and gave it a top speed of over 150 MPH

The V8 Quattro never sold well. Audi was still reeling from the unintended acceleration accusations of the 1980s and had yet to establish itself in the minds of the US buying public as a true premium brand. People looking for this type of car chose the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S Class over the Audi.

Used Audi V8s don't sell for a lot of money. That's good as some money should be set aside for potential problems. Audi automatic transmissions can be trouble prone and they're not cheap. Power windows also tend to fail.

The car listed on eBay has a lot of miles on it, but appears to be in good condition and well maintained. Click here to see the eBay listing.
