1983 Renault LeCar 4 Door - A Late Sunday Post

I'll admit it. I like these cars. I always have. Maybe it's because of some really good memories I have of one, or maybe it's because I haven't driven one in so long that I've forgotten the car's flaws, but if I had the space to store it, I'd buy this car in a heartbeat.

Nice old Minis are generally selling for $6,000.00 to $10,000.00 these days. This car has a Buy It Now price of $1195.00. For another 2 or 3 thousand dollars you can get a set of the cool Renault factory mag wheels that were available for this car, a Formuling France steering wheel and a whole lot of performance parts out of Europe and have a car just as fun, if not more fun than a Mini. (And, what the hell, while you're at it, cut the canvass sunroof out of a wrecked LeCar and weld it into this one - It's not like LeCars are ever going to valuable or judged on originality)

I wrote about a LeCar back in January. You can find the post here.

I would leave it alone. That's a great time capsule car.

Twenty years ago $1100.00 would be about three times what this car was worth. I can help now but think that at that price the buyer got a bargain. Times change!

I COVET LeCars. It's a ridiculous dream car for me.. ideally orange, with of course, THE sunroof. It's such a clean design.. and let me tell you, they are extremely rare. I look on eBay and Craigslist (sometimes all over the country) for them and there are probably only 4-5 a year that come up for sale. Probably for a reason, but still.... they are HOT!
