1968 Bizzarrini 5300 Stradale

Take a good look at this eBay listing. There's a pretty good chance you'll never see one like it again.

Bizzarrinis don't often come up for sale and when they do it is usually through venues much more exclusive than eBay.

Writing my usual "this car gets to 60 MPH in X seconds" or "you can find parts on XX website" would be stupid when talking about a car like this. It's all irrelevant. This is a hand built Italian exotic. It's very fast, and if you can afford to buy the car, you can afford to find the parts or have them created.

Giotto Bizzarrini had a pretty amazing career. Besides building cars under his own name, he worked for Ferrari, ATS, Alfa Romeo, Iso and Lamborghini. I would be happy to be able to say I worked for one of those companies! At 83 years old Bizzarrini is still working, teaching at Roma University and still designing and developing his own sport cars.

I'm writing this at 11PM, Monday night. This car has been on eBay for less than 10 hours and it already has 12 bids and is up to $50,000.00. (A price that, rightly, hasn't hit the reserve.)

Wikipedia has a pretty good article on Bizzarrini and his cars. You can find it here.
