Except for the badges and slight flare around the wheel wells, there's little that tells you this car is anything other than an Audi 100 / 200 station wagon. It's what's inside that's special.
The 1991 Audi 200 20v Turbo Quattro Avant has a 5 cylinder, 20 valve, turbo engine (hence the name) that, in stock form, puts out 217 HP. 60 miles per hour comes in 6.6 seconds, and it has an electronically limited top speed of just under 150MPH. All of that power goes through a 5 speed transmission (an automatic was not available) and then to the pavement through Audi's Quattro system.
This car is impressive on many levels. The seller claims it's 1 of only 150 sent to the US. It's also completely stock, except for the steering wheel (which is really nice) and having been lowered an inch.
There is an irony to this car... In many ways it would be a perfect car for me to own. It's fast and unusual. It has AWD, which would be a huge benefit in the New Engalnd winters. It's a station wagon, which would allow me to load lots of "stuff" into it, as I have to do for my business from time to time. The irony is that now that it is 18 years old, it's too nice, too rare, to use it for that purpose.
