1967 Ford / OSI 20m TS

I don't know what to say about this eBay listing...

OSI (Officine Stampaggi Industriali) was created by Luigi Segre (former president of Ghia) and Arrigo Olivetti. They did some bodies for Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Innocenti. The car they're most famous for is this one, the Ford OSI 20m TS. It is quite possibly the most beautiful European Ford based car ever built. (OK, the GT40 could take that title too, so maybe I'll say the most beautiful, affordable Ford based car ever built.) There were roughly 2000 built. According to the seller this is 1 of 8 in the US. The car is based on the German Ford Taunus.

The seller says the car runs and drives and the few pictures included with the ad show a pretty decent body.

The $9200.00 Buy It Now price seems like a bargain for a car like this and I had planned to write a post saying that someone should scoop this up before the seller realizes what he's doing and raises the price. Then I read this, the second to last line in the ad...

"My son died in September and I am slowly selling all of my cars and parts. It just is no fun without him."

Wow. What do you say to that?

Don't buy this to profit on it. Don't buy this to squirrel it away. Buy it, turn it into a father / son project and enjoy the hell out of it. You never know what the future holds...
