1972 Oldsmobile 442

I don't know what it is about the Oldsmobile 442. I have a friend who has a ton of automotive knowledge and is all about European cars. She melts at the sight of a 442 (she's not the melting type, either). A guy I know who races a Lotus and drives nothing but Mercedes Benz cars stopped by my store last weekend to tell me all about the 442 he just bought to restore. I was talking with a non-car-geek business associate this morning and she was telling me about some guy who accidentally won some astronomical sum of lottery money. (I don't remember the details, but I guess he didn't mean to buy the ticket, or something like that) I made a joke about buying cool cars for all my friends if that happened to me and asked her what she'd want. "An Olds 442" was her reply.

I guess I need to feature a 442.

The GTO and the Chevelle SS are more famous, but I have to admit that if I were in the market for an old GM muscle car, I'd go with the 442, too.

The car in the pictures is a 1972 442. It has been completely restored. Even if you're not a fan of the 442, you should check out the eBay listing. This is a remarkably restored car.

The car is located in Royal Palm Beach, FL. You can find the eBay listing here.

For a brief history of the 442 and some links to some further 442 information, you can check out the post I wrote back in May about another 442. You can find it here.
