Something Completely Different For A Thursday...

As you might imagine, there are days when finding an interesting car to write about is tough. Today was one of those days.

I was about to surrender and revisit a few cars I had written about in the past, when an e-mail popped up from my friend, Jeff. In part it read, "Not the kind of thing that you usually post on the blog, but way cool nevertheless." Way cool, indeed...

The first link Jeff sent me was to a Flicker page belonging to a man named Michael Paul Smith. Mr. Smith builds model cars. Yeah, I know, you're thinking "So? A lot of people build model cars." But Smith also built a recreation of the town he grew up in, parked the model cars in front of the buildings and scenery and took some photos. Looking at he pictures, you'd swear that these were real cars parked in front of real buildings. It's truly incredible.

You can find his Flicker page here.

The next link was to a video of a guy who created a scale version of a 312 PB. Or, as the builder put it, "A Ferrari which we can have in the dining room". This is not just a body, this guy also built a working replica of the engine and transmission. You have to check this out...

(Those of you who receive Just a Car Geek via e-mail will have to click here to see the video.)
