Weekend Quickies - Sunday September 25, 2011

1980 Triumph TR8 - Why these don't sell for more money than they do is a mystery to me.

I know that British cars of the late seventies and early eighties were not the most reliable cars in the world. I know some Triumph snobs hated the TR7 / TR8 wedge shaped bodies...

But, c'mon, all of that was 32 years ago. The car's original faults have all been cured by the owners or aftermarket. The wedge shaped design? Look at all the other wedges that came out before, during, and after the TR7's launch. It was the sporty design of the time. I think it looks great.

This car has had a few fairly common modifications done to it. It has a Holley four barrel carburetor sitting on an Offenhauser manifold along with Hooker headers and Cherry Bomb exhaust. It has an over-sized aluminum radiator and dual cooling fans.

The body has a little bit of rust around the front wheel wells, which is a common TR7 / TR8 rust spot. The rest of the car is clean and looks very nice.

The asking price for this car is just $4000.00.

1971 Lancia Fulvia Zagato - I've always liked Zagato bodied cars. They are unique. The Fulvia is one of my favorites.

This Fulvia Zagato was imported from Italy in 2003. Its engine and transmission have been "overhauled" and the body repainted its original color. It has a bit of rust which should be attended to right away. All in all, this is an honest Fulvia Zagato that needs just a little to make it a near-perfect Fulvia Zagato.

1976 Jaguar XJ6 - What a beautiful car.

The original XJ - sold from 1968 through 1992 - is, in my eyes, the best looking Jaguar sedan ever built.

This car is a Series II. Visually it is more modern than the Series I, but mechanically it was similar.

This car is a one owner, 86,000 mile car. The color suits the car well and it looks to be in outstanding condition.

A big thanks to Dan for sending me the link to this car!

TR8s do seem to be selling for giveaways prices, there's a similar car at a Dealer here in Seattle and the asking price is $4,500. I think if you took this car back to England it would fetch Double the price. Definitly great bang for the buck, at some point the prices will rise but probably not anytime soon

That Lancia Fulvia Zagato is way cool, but the Buy It Now price of $24K is unrealistic in this economy. This car will probably sell for $15K max.
