1980 Matra Murena (in U.S.) - on eBay

Here's something you don't see everyday in the U.S. - a 1980 Matra Murena.

Matra is a French company that, despite all odds, is still in business. (It's now part of Pininfarina) Best known (in Europe) for the Renault Espace mini van, Matra also made some pretty impressive and unique sports cars.

The Murena is a 3 seat (!!) mid-engined car. It uses a Simca engine. (Simca was part of Chrysler Europe and later Peugeot. Peugeot didn't use the Simca name, selling Simca - and Rootes UK, also once part of Chrysler Europe - designed cars under the Talbot name for awhile and then dropping the line completely)

I love the look of this car.

The seller seems to be very knowledgeable about the Murena and very honest. This car is not being represented as a perfect car and parts are close to impossible to get in the US. If you buy this car the first thing you should do is join one of the several Matra owners clubs (or all of them).

This is another one of those cars that if I had a little more money for another toy and a larger driveway, you'd be bidding against me for it.
