1975 Peugeot 504 Coupe - In US and on eBay

Wow. I've never seen one of these in the US - I'm half tempted to take the drive to Brooklyn, NY, just to look at this.

This is a drop-dead gorgeous Peugeot. The 504 coupe was never officially imported into the US.

Designed by Pinninfarina, you see some shades of Alfa Romeo in the back end and the roofline. Style-wise, everything works perfectly on this car.

The engine is the PRV V6 which, while no rocket, should be able to move this car at a very nice pace.

Why Peugeot didn't send this car to the US is a mystery to me. Peugeot needed an image builder in this country and a car this good looking, one based on tried and true running gear, would have done a lot for Peugeot in the US. I just don't understand the corporate logic. (Although the problem most likely was that Peugeot never understood the US market)

The seller states that this car was imported form Denmark and has had a complete engine rebuild. The body, while not perfect, appears to be in nice enough shape that you could drive this car the second you take possession of it. The interior looks to be perfect. The seats have been recovered in leather and the Nardi wheel is a nice touch that fits the car well.

There is nothing I dislike about this car. What a great car.

Click here to see the eBay listing. is a great enthusiast website dedicated to the 504 coupe and convertible.

Click here to find another website (I'm not real sure what it's called) dedicated to the 504 coupe and convertible.

This car was imported from Germany (not Denmark) in March/April 2003 by Classic Euro Cars (based in Florida) and sold to a buyer in Seattle who took great care of it.

Unfortunately, this buyer had issues garaging the car and driving was always a concern to him (scare of breaking a glass or window or being run into).

One day he got a call from 2 guys of Brooklyn who were interesting of buying the car, which they did some time in 2004 or 2005.

Looks like they're now selling it but the car looks terribly tatty! It just has not been properly taken care of...

Different times!

Thank you for the update! It sounds like you know the car well.

Hopefully the new owner will bring it back to its full glory. It's such an incredible looking car.
