This is a late build Laforza. Essentially, the "new" Laforza company built new 1999 Laforzas on older, leftover 1989 frames. So what you get is a vehicle that is titled as a 1989, but has a build date of 1999. In 1999 you were buying a brand new 1989 car.
I remember trying to explain that to two very car-knowledgeable friends once... Both looked at me like I was crazy. It is legal, though. (Carroll Shelby tried this trick with "new" Cobras awhile ago, but, if I remember correctly, the DOT and EPA questioned whether Shelby was really using old frames)

This Laforza appears to be in very nice condition. Located in Los Angeles, CA, click here to see the eBay listing. The seller includes links to a couple of quick videos.
And, yep, there was a Laforza on the list of "Cash for Clunkers" cars I posted yesterday. Damn.
