1968 Renault R10 - 50,000 Miles & In Storage For 30 Years.

In the past few months there have been a couple of R10 listed on eBay for astronomical prices. To the best of my knowledge, they haven't sold.

This R10 has an asking price of just $1200.00. The Craigslist listing is short on details. The seller only states that the car has been on storage for 30 years, has 50K miles on it and was owned by a man who was born in 1919.

It's safe to assume that this car will need a lot of work to make it drivable again, but based on the one picture the seller provides, it appears to be a solid car.

In my opinion, the R10 is the rear engined Renault to own. If you agree and are looking for a summer restoration project, it may be worth giving this guy a call.

Rene's Renault Pages is a website dedicated to all classic Renaults. It contains a wealth of information on the R10. You can find it here.

PS - I'm in the middle of closing / moving my business. For the next few days or so the posts will be a little shorter than usual. I apologize for that. By the middle of next week things should be back to normal.

Wow. I didn't even know that those were sold in the usa. Even here in France it's a rare sight on the roads.

This is more likely a 1970, based on this photo.
In my opinion, Renault did the proportions right with the R8, the re"styling" of the R10 just looks awful! And, it's too narrow, there's no rear seat room and the engine is lifeless and ugly sounding!
THE rear engined car to have is either a Simca 1000 or NSU 1000. They're both light, nimble and roomy. They both have great sounding engines (and the NSU engine is great looking, too!).
And, when you tell people what it is, they don't roll their eyes and recall a stupid story like they do when you say "Renault", LOL
