The Mazda 323 GTX is all that. It's a detuned rally car.
To be considered a production car for Group A rallying, the FIA rules said that 5,000 road-going versions of the car had to be built. Of the 5000 Mazda built, just over 1200 came to the US. They don't often come up for sale.
Since they don't have an Audi or Lancia badge on them, they sell for relatively little money. This one, in very nice shape, is being offered for $3100.00.

1969 Volvo 142S - The first of the boxy Volvos. The 140 series cars were the first "modern" Volvos, eventually replacing the Amazon, which had been around since 1956.This is a remarkable 32,000 mile car. The seller calls it "almost all original", but, other than a modern stereo, doesn't say what's not original.
The only downside is the automatic transmission. The 142 isn't very quick to begin with and the automatic doesn't help things at all.

Well, that 323 certainly is cooler than the modern version of the 3 series that I have; my ride has the 2.0 engine, not the 2.3 and it's definitely not the Mazdaspeed 3 either.
Owned two of these. First one lost in due to a red light runner and second one went with my ex.
Brought that up to point out that I would not have sold these cars. Very well built and fun to drive cars. Never babied them and never had a problem. Well over 150k miles on each.
These cars do have known issues. Weak second gears, CV joints need replacing after 120k miles, rust in the wheel wells, and drains clog up sending water into the passenger compartment after a rain.
Now I notice that the comments are general. I was referring to the GTX.
Bring A Trailer was on that Volvo today.
I can't imagine the 300 SE getting much more than 10mpg in town driving.
I wonder if the benz has the "biodegradable" wiring harness?
The Benz looks like a steal from the photos. Damage does not look bad. Expensive car to repair, but huge upside.
Thats has to be one of the best looking Volvo's I've seen. Nice car.
Love the 323 post. Great car. This one looks like it was taken care of and priced fair. The 323 GTX and the Celica GTX are 2 of my fav late rally/road cars. Both have just about all but disappeared and the Celica is bringing in big dollars.
