1993 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon - Done Right

Wow. Just wow.

Some of you may have seen this car already. A Just a Car Geek reader calling himself bluetoes591 left a link to it in the comments section of yesterday's post. I don't know if it's his car or something he spotted, but it really doesn't matter; this is one hell of a Volvo wagon.

This car started life as a 940 Turbo wagon. There's nothing wrong with that. The Volvo 940 Turbo wagon is one of my favorite cars. It's practical, roomy, comfortable and very quick. The body is old-school Volvo boxy. It draws little attention to itself. That's often a good thing when you have a fast car.

This car has been modified. Not boy-racer modified, but what I like to call "adult modified". There were no modifications done for the sake of flash. Everything done to this car was done to improve the overall performance, looks and driving experience of the car.

The seller lists some of the work he's done. It includes: a 3" performance exhaust from turbo to tailpipe, head and manifold work, cold air intake, a Wilwood BBK (Big Brake Kit), IPD swaybars, panhard rod, poly bushings, V90 smooth hatch trim, door handles, side skirts, tail lamps, RARE Volvo wagon spoiler, made by Foha, 16x7.5" Team Dynamics wheels and more.

I love this car. It looks basically stock. You wouldn't be embarrassed driving your kid to school in it. Out on the road however, you will embarrass just about anybody who tries to take it on.

If only I didn't live on the other side of the continent...
