While I'm not sure I'm going to update the site anytime soon, I keep it alive as a resource and as a form of entertainment for car geeks. I did not keep it around as a way for spammers to sell bootleg Viagra (and every other drug known to man), website designs, single women, single men, single dogs & cats, car insurance, used trucks, new trucks, used cars, new cars, guns(!!), car hauling, religions (Jesus may save, but unless you can show me a picture of him doing it while driving an old Opel, he has no place here ;-) ) , and hundreds of other dubious (at best) products and services.
Eliminating just the spam was a monumental task. After awhile I realized it was just easier to eliminate all the comments. Many of the comments from "real" JACG readers were great and it was sad to see them go, but I had to do it.
This post is to let everyone who commented (legitimately) on the posts know how much I appreciated them. Taking them down was nothing personal and not an easy decision. Thanks for all the great input!
Dave
PS - The last post was about a Honda I inherited. That, thankfully, left my driveway in January 2013. The new ride is a 1997 Saab 900 'vert. 5 speed. Non-turbo. Pretty immaculate. 106k on it when I bought it, 114K on it now.

Why no more updates, Dave?
Actually I think that Jesus was a Honda guy- For He did not speak of his own accord.
Glad you are ok, really miss the posts here.
Eh, good luck to you....I was a fan of the site but after giving the finger to everyone who tuned in and tried to help contribute, without so much as a "hey, I think I'm going to take a little break" post, I'm out.
It's your prerogative to do whatever you want with your blog, but just dropping out (and then deleting all previous comments no less) was a crap move IMHO. Best of luck.
I had dropped this site from my bookmarks - I was a regular visitor as well. I figured that some personal illness had befallen you and the site had fallen to disrepair. Glad to see you (and the site) back!
Yay!!!! Youre back and welcome back Dave!!!! Curbside Classics is great but not nearly as 'in tune' as this site is for my automotive tastes. I cannot believe I hadnt checked the site in three months but it was fun looking at all these posts since your return all at once...and yeah, I am welcoming you back working backwards as I have posted about a dozen times working with the most recent posts....
