1967 Datsun 411

This was Nissan / Datsun's first real success in the US. The 411 was a Pininfarina design and had a European look to it. In 1964, the year it was introduced (as the 410), Datsun sold over 100,000 cars in the US for the first time.

These are simple cars. A 1.3 liter 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed manual transmission and power nothing.

This car looks great in maroon. It has obviously been painted at least once, and rust is now starting to bubble up on the fenders and quarter panels. These cars were extremely rust prone, so a very, very thorough check of the body is a must. It appears as if the engine bay was not painted when the rest of the car was painted and the inner fenders (at least the one shown in the pictures) appear to have very little rust. That's a good sign.

The interior of this car looks tired, but not trashed. (The seller says the driver's seat cushion is shot, but does not show a picture.) It wouldn't take much to restore it.

The seller says this car runs well. The front brakes have been converted to discs. The headlights are not working, but the seller says everything else works well.

This is an eBay auction, with no reserve. For many years these cars sold for next to nothing. But lately, as the sporty SSS models have increased in value, these "normal" versions of the car have increased, too. It will be interesting to see what this car is bid up to.
